LATEST UPDATE 3/17/26: Arriving at the appointment there was no wait. I called upon arrival as requested and we were brought right into a room. Our dog was seen immediately by the vet tech for intake. Dr. Stinman came promptly after for the examination. He took his time, answered all my questions without rushing, and was thorough with trying to uncover the source of my dog's problem. We did not have a clear indication at the time of what she needed. I was able to call back with a new symptom and send pics. Dr. S. called me shortly after with additional instructions. I really appreciate his promptness, attention to detail, thoroughness, patience, kindness, and professionalism. I am glad that we gave them another opportunity. I feel like our baby is in good hands. I recommend his services and will be continuing our care with him.

UPDATE: 3/7/25 I received a call from the owner and had a very nice conversation. He was genuinely kind and concerned about our overall experience. He helped to answer my questions, explain the treatment prescribed, and the options for my pet. This office also work directly with a pharmacy that prices competitively to the other online pharmacies. At the time, this wasn't offered to me and it would have helped. He said that he would be meeting with the staff to discuss different things that they will be working on to improve. I am thankful that he reached out to me with an apology and assistance to make things right. It was a step in the right direction to improve my confidence with their services. I feel strongly that all businesses should operate this way, as it shows that they value their customers, they care about their experience, and they are always looking to grow and improve their services.

Given all the great reviews and higher scores than other clinics on the Treasure Coast, we chose to try out Monterey Animal Clinic. Availability for appointments was good. Their exam fee was reasonable $73 for first visit ($60 after.)
Waiting room was empty and the office was quiet. The office is small and confining. Luckily, it wasn't crowded as I would have had a difficult time with my hyperactive dog. After about 15 minutes, we were taken back into a tiny room with only one chair (there were 2 of us.) The vet tech was nice enough to acknowledge it by saying she would bring us to another room. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
After waiting for an extended time, I stuck my head out of the room and asked if I could either go back to sit in the waiting room or get a chair. Someone brought a chair in.
Vaccines were discussed with the vet tech, but not administered or discussed with the doctor. At checkout, I asked the receptionist and she said I would have to wait for them to fit us in again.
They prescribed 2 meds which were grossly overpriced. The first was quoted at $16.88, online price $2.03. The second one was quoted $41.10, online $21.56. I asked for the scripts and was told that if I order with the online companies, I would have to mail in the script and it would take weeks to get. I called an online pet med company and they said that this practice chooses to make patients mail scripts rather than conveniently sending them electronically. It is obvious that they do this to force patients who desperately need the meds, especially in urgent situations, to pay ridiculous prices for meds that literally cost pennies online. A small increase for the convenience of having it on hand is reasonable, but this is a deceitful practice and they are clearly fleecing customers by charging exorbitant prices.
On a positive note, I was very happy with the doctor. He was friendly and explained everything in understandable terms. He took his time and did not make us feel rushed. He came across as caring towards our pet. Only one test was run and it was inconclusive. Although there was no diagnosis for our pet's condition, meds were prescribed. I feel like maybe other tests should have been run.
